# Construction Estimator#### OverviewAMS Renewable Energy is a fast-growing solar and storage EPC delivering commercial and utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States. We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our in-house team in White Plains, NY, supporting accurate, competitive cost estimating and preconstruction planning for renewable energy projects nationwide.This role is highly collaborative and works closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project development teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced EPC environment.#### Key Responsibilities###### Estimating & Cost Development* Develop detailed construction cost estimates for commercial and utility-scale solar and storage projects* Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and IFC-level estimates across multiple project phases* Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and site plans* Analyze labor productivity, material pricing, equipment costs, subcontractor scopes, and logistics* Develop contingencies, escalation assumptions, and risk-adjusted pricing###### Preconstruction & Coordination* Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate scope and constructability* Participate in internal pricing reviews and handoffs from development to execution* Support subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and scope clarification* Assist with value engineering and cost optimization efforts###### Systems, Tools & Scheduling* Use **Procore** for project documentation, scope tracking, and preconstruction coordination* Use **Smartsheet** for estimating workflows, cost tracking, and internal coordination* Maintain organized estimating files, assumptions logs, and cost histories* **Ability to create and manage preliminary construction schedules is a strong plus*** Support schedule-driven cost analysis and sequencing assumptions#### Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)* 2–5 years of construction estimating experience, preferably in renewable energy, EPC, or large-scale infrastructure* **Proficiency in Procore and Smartsheet (required)*** Strong understanding of construction means and methods* Experience performing quantity takeoffs and building detailed estimates* Strong Excel skills and comfort working with cost models* Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills* **Ability to work onsite in White Plains, NY (required)**#### Preferred Qualifications* Experience with solar, storage, or electrical infrastructure projects* Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or Smartsheet schedules)* Understanding of EPC contracting structures and risk allocation#### Why AMS Renewable Energy* In-house estimating role with direct impact on project wins and execution* Exposure to national-scale solar and storage EPC projects* Collaborative team environment with high visibility* Competitive compensation and growth opportunity as AMS continues to scalePay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Health insurance* Paid time offWork Location: In person
