
Overview
The Database Administrator (DBA) plays a pivotal role in designs, implements, maintains, and secures the organization’s databases. Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technologies, this position is responsible for ensuring data is reliable, accessible, and performs efficiently for users and business operations, handling tasks such as performance tuning, user access control, capacity planning and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Microsoft SQL database, SQL code development, SAP Business Objects, Data warehouse and BI servers, ensuring robust data solutions and impactful reporting.
Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Installation & configuration of database systems
Monitor performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and optimize database speed and efficiency
Assist in database design, structure, and migration to support company objectives
Diagnose and resolve database issues and technical problems
Manage and maintain SAP Business Objects applications, including: Business Objects Central Management Console (BO CMC), Business Objects Information Design Tool, Business Objects Web Intelligence and Business Objects BI Launchpad
Create, maintain, support, and upgrade reports, dashboards, cubes, and data warehouses
Ensure data integrity, security, and governance across all business intelligence platforms
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Strong in Microsoft SQL
Minimum of 7 years of experience with SQL Server, SAP, Oracle
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a database administrator
Minimum of 5 years of experience with cloud databases
Experience with server installation, upgrade and maintenance
Experience with SAP Business Objects applications a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SAP business object software installation and upgrade
Knowledge of building SAP business object universe and database connection
Knowledge of building SAP business object report using universe and free hand SQL
Knowledge of SAP business object user and object security administration
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau)
