
Overview
We are seeking a full-time
Team Leader Marine Inside Sales
at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the Marine Inside Sales team that is responsible for building relationships and growing sales with marine dealers and OEMs, to promote the Garmin brand, and increase market share.
Essential Functions
Lead a team of Marine Inside Sales Reps with diverse capability levels across various account types to include dealer, distributor, and OEM sales
Directly supervise Inside Sales members with daily observation, assuring appropriate attendance, and providing assistance to team members with day to day issues and meeting target numbers
Observe daily team and individual functions, continually looking for ways to improve and develop for better efficiency, new ideas and personal growth
Interview and hire new associates as directed by department management
Oversee training and mentoring of associates in the art of Sales and Customer Service
Maintain open and honest communication with both team members and departmental leadership
Motivate the team and build healthy relationship with each team member
Update and implement new policies and marine programs as needed
Run and analyze reports and develop action plans for both teams and individuals
Manage multiple special projects as assigned by department management
Work with Sales Directors and Sales Managers to assist with marine sales team needs
Conduct regular individual and team meetings to align on goals, performance, business trends and needs, market requirements, project milestones, and development opportunities
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
OR
an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Demonstrated focus on service with capability to lead by example
Demonstrated proven track record in meeting established goals
Demonstrated leadership in individual and team situations in current role
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work well with others under challenging circumstances
Must possess knowledge of Garmin’s product lines and customers
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Desired Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of Garmin experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Garmin Inside Sales
Previous supervisory / leadership experience
Fully knowledgeable in all aspects of order entry system with a thorough understanding of Oracle management and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
