Mid-Senior Estimator
with a robust background in estimating Bridge and Structural projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team renowned for its excellence in the construction industry. The primary responsibilities of this role include: Providing accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for bridge work and structural components such as foundations, drainage devices, culverts, and retaining walls. Participating in preconstruction efforts for design-build or alternative delivery projects. Reviewing contract documents thoroughly to ensure accurate cost estimates. Analyzing historical data and utilizing estimating software to calculate costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Managing the bid process from start to finish and reporting to executives for final approval. Collaborating with procurement teams to secure materials at competitive prices. Estimating labor and equipment needs based on project scope and schedule. Conducting site visits to evaluate project conditions and potential risks. Identifying critical issues and summarizing risk exposures with associated cost impacts. Providing creative solutions and value engineering options. Effective communication with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Performing quantity takeoff comparisons for accuracy evaluation. Working with scheduling staff to develop precise bid schedules. Presenting complete and accurate estimates to support confident decision-making. Representing the company at pre-bids and site visits. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 15 years of experience in heavy civil estimating, with extensive knowledge of bridges and structures. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a self-motivated attitude. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and pricing. Contributing to improved estimating techniques and processes is encouraged. Work Environment:
This role will involve a mix of office work and site visits, with occasional travel expected between our Illinois and Indiana offices. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing during estimation tasks. Occasional site visit travel for project assessments. Compensation:
The salary for this position is between $150,000 - $180,000 per year, flexible based on experience.
