KPMG is seeking a Trade and Customs Advisor - FTZ to join our International Tax practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive research and provide expert guidance to clients in various industries on Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), import, and export compliance matters.
Analyze import/export data to support critical global trade initiatives, including evaluations of customs duty savings and reviews of trade compliance.
Work collaboratively with the FTZ service delivery team and the Global Trade Management (GTM) system implementation team.
Assist FTZ clients with data validation as well as the implementation, testing, and operation of GTM solutions.
Advise clients on the regulations set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other government entities for import, entry, and export transactions in the FTZ environment.
Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery while maintaining proactive communication to meet client expectations and enhance satisfaction.
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience in import/export operations, with a strong understanding of FTZ processes, compliance, and related activities.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or a Certified Public Accountant, Juris Doctor, or a Master's degree in international trade.
Preferred experience with FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping Systems and/or FTZ processing.
Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) systems, including implementation, testing, and training.
Proficiency in data analytics for import/export data using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Access.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship.
