The Opportunity As a dedicated Senior Field Auto Appraiser, you will play a critical role in the investigation, negotiation, evaluation, and appraisal of vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total loss vehicles. Your focus will be on ensuring estimate accuracy in alignment with state laws and regulations while delivering exceptional member service. What you'll do: Utilize digital tools to evaluate and appraise complex auto physical damage claims in accordance with contracts, corporate guidelines, and regulations.

Investigate claim damages through communication with insured members, internal claims adjusters, and third parties/vendors, potentially involving face-to-face interactions.

Review loss facts and vehicle damage to identify subrogation opportunities and ensure all documentation is accurate.

Exhibit advanced knowledge of the P&C insurance industry, products, and processes to guarantee compliance with laws and policies.

Assess claims for potential fraud indicators and collaborate with the Special Investigations Unit as necessary.

Maintain thorough and accurate claim file documentation throughout the claims process.

Ensure productivity standards are met through effective case management, timely follow-ups, and accurate scheduling of repairs.

Review additional damages from repair facilities to manage claim supplements or triage inspections effectively.

Act as a subject matter expert for disputed claims or trials and assist team members with escalated issues.

Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to facilitate the resolution of complex claims and ensure regulatory compliance.

Provide policyholders with proactive communication regarding coverage, estimates, and the claims process.

Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations as necessary, including potential on-call work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work on a variety of claim types, including those of higher complexity, and assist with additional tasks as required.

Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in line with risk and compliance policies.

What you have: High School Diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of 2 years' experience in auto appraising.

Proficient knowledge of P&C insurance policies, auto parts distribution, and the claim appraisal process.

Advanced experience using estimating platforms like CCC.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with various stakeholders.

Ability to acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days.

What sets you apart: 5+ years of experience in auto physical damage appraisal.

Experience writing estimates in a collision body shop environment.

Physical Demand Requirements: Ability to operate a company vehicle within your assigned territory.

Ability to perform physical inspections of damaged vehicles which may require bending, climbing, and kneeling.

Ability to work outdoors in various conditions, including challenging weather, and in environments such as body shops or salvage yards.

Must meet USAA's safe driving standards, including a verified driving record and a valid driver's license.

Compensation range:

The salary range for this position is: $63,590 - $121,530. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. If you require immigration support in the future, please do not apply.
