Role Description The Business Development Representative role is a full-time, on-site position located in Kansas City, MO. The primary responsibilities of this role include generating leads, prospecting potential clients, and building relationships to support business growth. The position involves identifying new customers, following up with prospective clients, and collaborating with the sales team to achieve company objectives. The representative will engage in consultative sales practices to understand client needs and present tailored solutions.
GENERAL DUTIES
Maintain and enhance existing customer base. Solve problems and negotiate conflict. Operate within company policies and procedures. Perform positively within a goal-oriented environment. Acquire new repetitive business to meet growth objectives. Maintain a team attitude. Accept personal responsibility for performance. Be an advocate of Pella KC beyond the workplace. Maintain and make available, when requested, a complete customer list containing name, address, phone numbers, and other pertinent account data in SalesForce. Professionally and honestly represent products and services without making any false claims or warranties. Provide accurate and correct information from Pella KC to consumers regarding pricing, product instructions, contracts, quotations, and reports. Provide all necessary paperwork and related follow-up information to ensure accurate and orderly delivery of products to the customer within the confines of established company production and delivery schedules. Make minor deliveries and perform minor warranty/service work when necessary. Provide outstanding customer service. Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities. Engage in Daily Cold Calling Sessions Utilize all tools provided to you proactively (PAS Services, DesignWorks, PPKC Event spends) Proactively learn and research construction science to level up industry acumen. Leverage the initial sales process steps of Find, Know, and Influence. Develop and maintain working competency in understanding a prospect’s key business Achieve individual and department metrics (KPIs) Effectively communicate our value proposition, tell the Pella Story, along with why and how Pella KC will positively impact their business. Develop understanding of, and document and communicate on prospecting activities. Position Pella KC as a full team ready to support the prospect’s window & door business. Exercise a passionate, relentless prospecting mindset. Positivel represent Pella KC at company sponsored events, professional group’s invitations to discuss and/or present Pella products, trade association meetings and/or builder home shows. Building customer relationships through follow-up with existing and potential clients using a consultative sale process, i.e., sending hand-written thank-you cards to customers as a proactive measure of customer management. Working variable, non-traditional hours making themselves available for customers during evenings and weekends Any additional duties that are assigned by management or company officers.

Sales and Business Development knowledge to identify opportunities and contribute to the company’s growth strategies is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently. Experience in similar industries or markets is a plus. Proficiency in CRM systems and software tools may be beneficial. xsgimln Minimum 2 years of college required; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
