Job Summary The Graphic Designer & Creative Coordinator serves asa key creative resource for the Office of University Communications, partneringwith units across campuses to conceptualize, design, and produce professionalmarketing materials that advance the university's brand and strategic goals.This position is responsible for translating complex ideas into visuallycompelling print and digital communications, ensuring brand consistency andelevating the quality of creative output across the institution. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Designs visually compelling print and digital materials while ensuring adherence to internal processes, including project timelines, approval workflows, file preparation, and archiving; troubleshoots production-related file issues and coordinates with external vendors, as needed. Collaborates with creative partners to establish design direction and execute creative strategies across multiple communication platforms; develops design solutions for institutional and high-profile initiatives, ensuring alignment with university brand standards and creative strategy. Ensures all printed and digital communications meet institutional graphic and style standards, maintaining quality, consistency and brand integrity. Collaborates with Marketing Communications and Web teams to execute creative strategies across platforms; provides design support for advertising, video, web and social media by producing high-quality creative assets. Maintains knowledge of design best practices, trends, techniques and production resources; performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from an accredited collegeor university in graphic design or graphic communication and one (1) year of paidprofessional experience as a graphic designer.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel Strong understanding of print processes and production methods Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment Strong organizational, project management and time management skills with the ability to work productively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented setting Proven ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities Strong work ethic, critical-thinking abilities and creative problem-solving skills Demonstrated judgment, discretion and attention to detail Ability to apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to design and production tasks Ability to analyze information, define problems, collect data and draw sound conclusions
