As the

Director, Employee Support & Evaluations (0993)

you will be a key part of the Human Resources Leadership Team, reporting to the Executive Director, HR Operations. You will provide strategic leadership in the Human Resources department, ensuring new and continuing employees in SFUSD have a positive experience with the Human Resources department. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the District's evaluation and professional growth mechanisms proceed in alignment with best practices and contractual guidelines.

We expect our

to:

Demonstrate a Leadership Mindset

Direct the District's employee performance evaluation program

, ensuring that employees across the District receive a timely and effective evaluation and creating infrastructure and resources for managers to conduct employee evaluations where few have existed in the past; Lead aligned communication efforts for the HR team

by developing and managing a comprehensive, employee-focused communication strategy Set and maintain service delivery standards

for the Front Office team, ensuring that HR maintains a focus on excellent customer service Manage to Results

Build a deep understanding of all performance evaluation tools

including but not limited to the Leadership Evaluation Tool (for unrepresented Management), the Civil Service Evaluation Tool (for classified Civil Service staff), the Leadership Action Plan (for administrators), and the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (for certificated staff) Create infrastructure

inclusive of data/analytics, professional development and training resources, tracking tools and communication templates to support performance evaluations across the District and strengthen the capacity of all employees to give and receive feedback

Oversee the administration of District training

resources via resources like Clerical Training sessions and Independent Learning Modules (ILMs) Develop measures

that help us understand and improve our employee support and communication efforts and set us on the path of continuous improvement in those areas Manage Relationships

Collaborate with hiring managers and District leadership

to increase the effectiveness of programs and processes that rely on employee evaluations, including PAR

Collaborate with members of the Human Resources Leadership Team

to ensure information of importance to District employees is disseminated in a clear, thorough and timely manner Serve as the District's designee

on all contractual matters involving performance evaluations in partnership with the Associate Superintendent, Human Resources Build a strong working relationship

with the Legal Division, and work closely with HR's Labor Relations Division Coach and support school leaders

and other supervisors across the District in affirmative assistance and, in particular, delivering effective performance evaluations

Manage Teams

Lead the HR Front Office

team, working with the staff to innovate and improve service delivery to visitors to Human Resources Supervise the Manager, Training & User Support

in their work to support employees efficacy with HR's systems of record and the rapid resolution of tickets submitted to Human Resources Work collaboratively across teams in HR

, and externally as needed, to ensure potential and current employees of SFUSD understand their benefits and responsibilities of working for the District The strongest candidates will have:

Knowledge of San Francisco's public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD's commitment to strong collaborative relationships with our labor partners as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile Expertise in labor relations and/or human resources, including a proven record of effectively planning, organizing and using resources and systems to negotiate collective bargaining agreements Knowledge of best practices in employee relations, including personnel investigations and discipline Success in working with labor organizations, preferably in a K-12 setting Knowledge of the Educational Employment Relations Act ("EERA") and experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements under the EERA Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex financial information to a variety of audiences A strong analytic, performance management, accountability, and systems-thinking orientation necessary to inform strategy development and execution Active Administrative Services Credential Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university Four (4) years of professional-level experience in an educational institution or setting; at least two (2) years in a human resources/talent management capacity' Substitution

Up to 4 years of education requirement may be substituted for additional experience on a year-for-year basis
