Are you a senior automation or controls leader who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building strong customer relationships? As a Pre?Sales Engineer / Account Development Manager focused on the Life Sciences sector, you'll serve as a trusted advisor helping clients modernize, integrate, and optimize their manufacturing operations through Emerson's industry?leading automation and digital transformation technologies. You'll partner with operations, engineering, and IT/OT leaders at top pharmaceutical and biotech firmstranslating your process knowledge into actionable solutions that drive measurable business improvement. This isn't a traditional sales job. It's a relationship?driven, solution?focused position that combines technical credibility with business influence. You'll represent technologies like DeltaV DCS, MES, process analytics, and IIoT solutionswhile having the autonomy to shape strategy, lead discussions, and guide long?term clients across their digital transformation journey. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth: Cultivate and expand relationships with key life sciences manufacturers, identifying opportunities for automation upgrades, expansions, and digital initiatives.

Consultative Engagement: Act as a technical and commercial advisor to clients, ensuring proposed solutions align with their compliance, production, and operational goals.

Opportunity Leadership: Lead the discovery, definition, and positioning of Emerson automation solutions in collaboration with engineering subject?matter experts and internal teams.

Account Development: Support Account Managers in territory planning and pipeline management, maintaining visibility into capital projects and OpEx initiatives.

Value Communication: Translate technical advantages into business valueimproved yield, reduced downtime, enhanced data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Client Advocacy: Maintain ongoing relationships post?sale to ensure customer satisfaction, identify extensions, and strengthen strategic ties.

Market Insight: Track industry trends, competitor capabilities, and emerging process automation technologies to inform client strategies.

Qualifications

Background: 5+ years in life sciences manufacturing with emphasis on controls, automation, or process systems engineering.

Technical Expertise: Experience with platforms such as Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell or Siemens PLCs, MES, or data integration technologies.

Sales Mindset: Commercially curious and relationalable to engage decision makers at multiple levels and align technology with business outcomes.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

Soft Skills: Excellent communicator, confident presenter, and natural collaborator who enjoys both technical problem solving and customer interaction.
