Health And Wellness Communications And Marketing Officer
The USF Wellness departments support the holistic health and wellness needs of USF students in order to optimize well-being and enhance student success. The Center for Student Well-Being (SWELL) serves as the main health promotion branch of these units providing education, awareness, and outreach offerings to students, utilizing an evidence based and best-practices approach to college health and wellness. Effective health communications and marketing is critical to the process of behavior change, leading to academic success. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of the Center for Student Well-Being and working in a diverse higher education setting, the Health and Wellness Communications and Marketing Officer will coordinate the unit's overall communications and marketing efforts to support the annual goals of the unit, as well as guide that of the aligned departments to support the attainment of their individual and collective goals. This position develops marketing strategies, using multiple modalities, for health behavior change and ensures the successful promotion of health and wellness services, resources, and events. The Health and Wellness Communications and Marketing Officer also works collaboratively with Student Success Communications & Marketing to ensure contributions to the division's goals and to facilitate workflow and information dissemination with the division and other stakeholders. Special Skills or Training: Strong knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to leverage and maximize their use to positively impact behavior change, and effectively market programs, services, and resources. Possess the ability to analyze social media metrics to support goals and guide programming strategy. Knowledge of social marketing with experience in web design. Responsibilities
25%: Assist the individual Health & Wellness departments to develop annual marketing and communications plans to support the achievement of its pre-determined goals and initiatives. Plan, develop and implement creative marketing strategies that lead to health behavior change to include social norming campaigns and health messaging. Monitors and measures effectiveness of work product to identify success and adjust for future application. Supervise student support staff. 25%: Provide creative direction, consult and/or manage the creative process for marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives, and facilitate execution where needed, including copy editing, and managing and maintain the Wellness USF social media presence. Assist departments managing with their websites and content as needed. Manage and develop communications and marketing team. 25%: Identify and facilitate opportunities for Health & Wellness departments to collaborate to raise awareness of the holistic approach to health and wellness. Functions as a liaison between Student Success Marketing & Communication and Wellness Departments. Attends departmental staff meetings and project/event meetings providing marketing expertise and presenting creative options for marketing departmental services, events, goals and objectives. Ensure all Health & Wellness marketing and communications media comply with the standards, policies and procedures of USF and Student Success. 10%: Intentionally partner with the other campuses' Health & Wellness functions to leverage universal messaging and campaigns. In collaboration with Student Success Communications & Marketing, suggest and develop news content, press releases and advisories for and with UCM. 10%: Remain abreast of national health and wellness trends; explore opportunities to leverage partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to enhance campus initiatives. Assist in the marketing and communications for health and wellness related university initiatives as requested. 5%: Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in communications and marketing or a related field 3-5 years of professional work experience in communications and marketing. Demonstrated work experience in a health and wellness related field, preferably on a college/university setting Demonstrated knowledge of the health and wellness industry. Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;(c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
