Summary:
(Hybrid role) - 2 days in office and virtual the remainder of the time
Reporting to the Controller, the Director of Finance Business Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial statement preparation, explanation, and continuity of key business segments within PPMC. This includes providing accurate and insightful information in relations to performance along with departmental projections and growth plans. The Director of Finance Business Operations implements efficient customer-focused financial processes and systems which include management of entity accounting operations, monthly variance analysis, operating budget support and other duties as assigned by the Controller or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Responsibilities:
Supports the PPMC Controller and CFO in the generation of departmental financial statements including balance sheet reconciliations and narratives of income statement variances to budget, prior year, benchmarks and trends in accordance with UPHS closing calendar.
Assists PPMC Controller and CFO in developing Entity annual operating budgets in accordance with UPHS budget calendar.
Supports PPMC Controller and CFO in strategic and operational planning initiatives by monitoring regulatory and competitive environments.
Works closely with PPMC Controller and CFO to prepare business plans for new business ventures, including financial accountability, resource management, and evaluation of implementation requirements costs and return on
Assists CFO and Entity leadership with analytics and dashboards to assure financial objectives are met providing insight intoindustry trends and benchmarks to assist with resource allocation, decision support and prioritization
Serves as the liaison between the business, quality, clinical and administrative teams with responsibilities to analyze, evaluate and meet financial/business needs by assisting with defining measurable and actionable metrics to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
Provides leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of financial operations by incorporating best practices.
Focuses on continuous improvement utilizing processes that include consideration for all stakeholders and follows appropriate governance and change control processes.
Plans and projects departmental expenses. Works with PPMC Controller and Entity CFO to identify trends or potential issues. Communicates to appropriate entity operations leadership to discuss potential impact and create
Identifies operational efficiencies of PPMC department business operations.
Conducts financial modeling of new business opportunities and models of care to support Penn Medicine value based purchasing.
Credentials:
Certified Public Accountant Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) Education Specialization: Accounting /Finance or similar field Equivalent Experience: •And 7+ years Finance, Accounting, 3+ Years of Supervisory/Managerial Experience Master of Arts or Science Education Specialization: MBA/MHA - CPA/CIA may be substituted for Master's Degree Equivalent Experience: •Or 10+ years Finance, Accounting, 3+ Years of Supervisory/Managerial Experience
