The standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (some evening and weekend hours required for special events); flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors. Work Location:

Hybrid. WFH 2 days a week, on campus 3 days. Will work on campus fully for the first three months. Salary Range:

$52,000 - $58,000.

Essential Job Duties: Design and execute professional, creative graphics and layouts for traditional and digital channels.

Attend project kickoff meetings and engage with project team members to gain insight on project specifications. Generate ideas that are consistent with St. Olaf College brand standards while meeting project specifications; ensure proper use of college logos, colors and graphic standards; promote visual brand consistency across design pieces. Create high-impact designs through creative use of color, typography, photography, graphic elements, and animation. Present design concepts to team members and/or campus client(s) for review, using design knowledge to guide discussions. Collaborate with the Marketing team and external vendors to ensure final communications meet standards for quality, effectiveness, timeliness, budget, and brand. Review proofs, identify corrections or revisions and attend press checks, as needed.

Take photos for use on the St. Olaf website, social media and other materials.

Collaborate with the Creative Team to provide photography when needed for use in social media and the website. Fulfill photography requests from various campus partners for use in communications materials.

General Office Responsibilities.

Attend team and division meetings. Mentor the student team by creating an engaging environment where learning and growing professionally is possible. Monitor computer hardware and software in the design studio. Contact St. Olaf IT department when repairs are needed. Keep inventory of supplies and equipment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

Reports to the Director of Creative Services. This position supervises student workers. Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Experience:

2+ years design and production experience; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom. Basic knowledge of Wordpress and Google Suite. Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

BFA or BA in Fine Arts or communications with an emphasis in graphic design. Experience:

3+ years of design and production experience; prior work experience in higher education; broad familiarity with HTML coding, photography editing, and animation. Prerequisites:
