Job Overview

The UX Principal is a senior individual contributor [IC] and design leader responsible for defining and driving the overall UX vision and experience strategy across the SurePoint organization. This role operates at a strategic level, influencing product direction, design standards, and organizational decision-making to ensure user experience is a competitive advantage. The UX Principal leads through influence, mentorship, and thought leadership rather than direct people management.

Key Responsibilities Define and champion a cohesive UX vision and long-term experience strategy across products Lead design direction for high-impact, ambiguous, and cross-product initiatives Establish and evolve UX principles, standards, and governance models to support scale Partner with executive leadership, Product, and Engineering to influence strategy and investment decisions Serve as a trusted advisor on UX best practices, design maturity, and user-centered decision making Mentor and guide senior designers and UX Architects through coaching and design critique Elevate design quality and consistency across teams through leadership and influence Advocate for UX as a core business driver, balancing user needs and business outcomes Qualifications

10-15+ years of experience in UX design, product design, or experience strategy Demonstrated success defining and executing UX strategy across complex product ecosystems Proven ability to influence senior leaders and executives without formal authority Experience leading large-scale or transformational UX initiatives Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, systems leadership, and measurable business impact Deep understanding of product development lifecycles and technology constraints Nice to Have Qualifications

Experience shaping or scaling UX organizations or design maturity models Background in enterprise, platform, or multi-product environments Experience partnering closely with C-suite or executive leadership Thought leadership contributions (speaking, writing, or community involvement) Success Metrics

Adoption of a clear, cohesive UX vision across product teams Measurable improvements in client satisfaction, engagement, or usability outcomes Increased consistency and quality of experiences across products and platforms Positive executive and cross-functional feedback on UX leadership and strategic impact Strong growth and effectiveness of senior designers and UX Architects under mentorship Competencies
