
Overview
We're looking for an Excess Casualty Underwriter to join a growing underwriting team focused on complex casualty risks operating primarily with Retail Agencies. This role is ideal for an underwriter with experience in retail excess casualty, or a strong foundation in primary casualty or E&S who's ready to step further into the excess space and grow within a collaborative, well-supported environment. Responsibilities
Underwrite excess casualty risks across a diversified portfolio, including reviewing submissions, pricing, and structuring terms and conditions Analyze primary casualty placements to assess attachment points, limits, and overall risk profile Partner closely with brokers to develop and maintain strong relationships and drive profitable growth Negotiate coverage terms while balancing risk selection and business development goals Collaborate with internal teams including claims, actuarial, and leadership to support underwriting decisions Maintain underwriting discipline and ensure adherence to company guidelines and appetite Qualifications
3+ years of underwriting experience Background in
Primary Casualty and/or E&S Excess Casualty
