Summary of Position This job operates in a professional office environment. Reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer. Provides prompt and courteous service to external and internal clients. Originates all types of one- to four-family residential loans, to be maintained in the Bank’s loan portfolio or sold to an investor, and consumer loans. Adheres to applicable rules and regulations for overall Bank compliance. Maintains confidentiality of Bank's customers and processes while adhering to Information Security standards.

Identifies customer’s financial needs and makes referrals to meet them while also effectively follows up on all received referrals.

Markets and promotes a full range of bank financial products based on both the benefits of the product or service to the customers and the customer’s individual needs.

Meets with current and prospective customers to present information about financing options based on the availability of products and services offered by the Bank.

Collects and analyzes information relating to the customer’s financial situation.

Completes required loan operation system documentation within mandatory time limits and regulatory compliance.

Adheres to all secondary market, investor and bank lending policies and procedures.

Meets with centers of influence and other internal and external referral sources regularly to create and maintain network contacts for business referrals.

Acts as the liaison between the customer, outside vendors, and other lending staff throughout various pre-closing events. Assists with post-closing items, as needed.

Communicates the lending decision to customers on approvals, counter offers and denials.

Attends regular department meetings and sales meetings, as scheduled.

Represents the bank in the community through active participation in community and bank-sponsored events.

Assists the Vice President of Commercial Lending with product development, business penetration and competition reviews.

Critical Drivers/Accountabilities Ability to meet production goals and maintain business relationships that provide customer referrals to the Bank; possesses superior reputation in local community; consistently meets deadlines; maintains excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask; demonstrates strong sales and analytical skills; ability to work respectfully with internal and external customers and vendors; possesses superior attention to detail. Willingness to attend outside functions during non-traditional work hours. Ability to fluctuate work hours based on production volumes.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

High school diploma; Must obtain approved MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator) licensing through the National Mortgage Licensing System.

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree; Prior history of originating a variety of consumer and mortgage loans, including Rural Development, FHA and VA is preferred. Two to three years of general banking knowledge.

Physical Requirements Sufficient stamina to sit and read a computer screen for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and/or fingers and otherwise perform the essential functions of the position. While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
