Position Summary The Senior Carrier Commission Reconciliation Analyst owns the end‑to‑end reconciliation and validation of Medicare and Life insurance carrier commissions. This role serves as the subject matter expert for commission accuracy, CMS and carrier compliance, and complex discrepancy resolution, including advance commissions, renewals, and chargebacks.

The Senior Analyst partners closely with Accounting, Product Owner, Business, and carrier commission teams to ensure revenue integrity, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of commission processes.

Responsibilities of the Commission Reconciliation Specialist

Lead monthly reconciliation of Medicare and Life carrier commission statements against internal enrollment, policy, and commission data.

Validate commissions, ongoing renewals, and chargebacks, including CMS‑compliant partial vs. full chargebacks.

Review complex scenarios including retroactive terminations, reinstatements, beneficiary changes, and policy conversions.

Ensure reconciliations are complete, accurate, and audit ready.

Serve as primary point of contact for carrier commission discrepancies.

Prepare, submit, and manage formal carrier disputes through resolution.

Escalate systemic issues to carrier partners and internal leadership with supporting analysis.

Track recoveries and ensure corrected payments are received.

Compliance, Reporting & Controls

Interpret CMS guidance, carrier contracts, and commission schedules as they relate to Medicare and Life products.

Support internal and external audits by providing detailed reconciliation support and documentation.

Produce reporting on commission accuracy, trends, recoveries, and aged discrepancies.

Ensure reconciliation processes align with internal controls and compliance standards.

Drive efficiency, automation, and scalable processes

Leadership & Process Improvement

Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions across systems, processes, or carrier relationships.

Define and maintain reconciliation SOPs and control documentation.

Mentor commission processors and review their work for accuracy and completeness.

Partner with Accounting and Product Owner on system enhancements impacting commission data.

Qualifications Include:

3+ years of experience in commission reconciliation; insurance experience preferred

Direct experience reconciling commissions

Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets

Strong analytical judgment and ability to resolve complex discrepancies

Experience interfacing directly with carrier commission teams

Proven ability to communicate confidently with external vendors and carrier partners

Strong presentation skills with experience presenting findings and recommendations to leadership

Prior audit ownership or lead role

Experience building or scaling commission processes for revenue generation.

Compensation The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $80,000 to $110 USD per year based on experience.

This role is also eligible to participate in the annual bonus program.
