Product Design Engineer (Designer) Maple Lake, MN | $34.00-$36.00/hr | Direct-Hire | Onsite This Product Design Engineer role supports a manufacturing-driven organization focused on delivering high-quality, production-ready products from concept through full lifecycle support. The position sits at the intersection of design, sales, and manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on design for manufacturability, fit, form, and function. Engineers in this role are deeply involved in product development, first-article validation, and continuous improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain product designs throughout the full product lifecycle with a focus on manufacturability, quality, and performance.

Create detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD software, translating customer and internal requirements into production-ready designs.

Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and R&D teams to support design reviews, customer feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Participate in first-article production and approval processes to verify designs meet fit, form, and function requirements.

Support troubleshooting efforts with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve design-related issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

At least two years of experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Proficiency with CAD tools, with SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.

Experience designing parts with consideration for tooling, molding, secondary operations, and assembly processes.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
