
Farm Manager

Position Summary
The farm manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the operations and functions of the farm. They will grow crops and market farm products. Farm managers will also perform administrative functions like preparing budgets, purchasing supplies and developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the overall operations of a farm Coordinate schedules and decide on the work activities of employees Organize and coordinate planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities Hire and manage farm personnel Assess problems and recommend solutions for the farm Understand business processes, like using accounting software Determine the amount and kinds of crops to be grown and livestock to be raised Develop and build relationships with vendors and suppliers Monitor the quality and quantity of crops and maintain animal health Develop and maintain financial production records Track and document farm practices of the operation Purchase farm machinery, livestock, seed, feed and other supplies Ensure that farming operations are sustainable Be responsible for employee compliance with health and safety regulations Manage the regular maintenance and repair on facility equipment Perform farming duties when required Company Overview
Based in San Antonio’s Eastside, NOW Connection is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of our community through food security, education, and sustainability. Established in September 2019 by members of St. Paul United Methodist Church, NOW was created to address urgent local needs with tangible, community‑led solutions. When the COVID‑19 pandemic paused our initial plans for a community market, NOW demonstrated resilience by pivoting to a direct‑distribution model, working with volunteers to provide free fresh produce and meat to families in need. Today, supported by Methodist Healthcare Ministries (MHM) and St. Paul UMC, we are poised for significant growth and are launching a state‑of‑the‑art hydroponic farm in Spring 2025.
