
Technical Sales Representative - CNG/Gas Processing

Overview
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving new business and supporting existing clients by selling gas processing services and solutions. This role blends technical expertise with consultative selling, working closely with engineering, operations, and customers to develop tailored solutions for natural gas delivery, treatment, processing, and related services. The ideal candidate understands CNG and gas processing fundamentals and can translate technical capabilities into clear business value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities within the CNG and gas processing market.
Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, operators, and other industry stakeholders
Evaluate customer gas streams, operating requirements, and commercial objectives to propose appropriate processing solutions
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop technical proposals, pricing, and project scopes
Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations, proposals, and contracts
Support customers through the sales cycle, from initial contact through contract execution and startup
Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory considerations
Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain CRM records
Attend industry events, conferences, and customer meetings as required
Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships
Travel up to 30% depending on location of employee in relation to customers
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Energy Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or engineering in Oil & Gas, Energy, or related industries.
Strong understanding of natural gas processing concepts (e.g., treating, dehydration, compression, NGL recovery, measurement)
Ability to read and understand technical documents, process flow diagrams, and specifications
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities and close deals
Willingness to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling contract services or midstream infrastructure solutions
Familiarity with commercial structures such as fee-based processing, throughput agreements, or long-term service contracts
Existing industry relationships and customer network
