Responsibilities Scope:
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, Medical Device, the Global Marketing Director, Specialty Surgery is responsible for creating the vision and mission of the Specialty Surgery portfolios based on collaboration with cross-functional colleagues and external partners. This role is responsible for creating and implementing the marketing strategy for product launches and selling of the Specialty Surgery Portfolios (inclusive of specialties such as Plastic, Head and Neck Colorectal and General Surgery) to achieve corporate & division financial objectives. Overseeing all aspects of marketing, the Director provides strategic as well as tactical leadership for the marketing and commercial execution of Specialty Surgery products in the US and International markets. S/he is responsible for managing the strategic portfolio roadmap, product development, product launch, and product marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product throughout the full portfolio lifecycle. The Director manages and provides coaching for a team of Product Marketers and creates functional strategies and specific objectives for each team member while also developing budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
Job Summary:
The Global Marketing Director, Specialty Surgery, leads a team to develop, implement, and align strategies and tactics focused on the successful commercial launch, penetration, and profitability of the overall portfolios globally. S/he directs and oversees all aspects of product life cycle management across these portfolios, including understanding market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field.

Proven success in leading downstream marketing teams
Establish and track metrics to hold the marketing team accountable for their performance against goals and strategies.
Effectively motivate a team and inspire collaboration and success
Global & Local Strategy Alignment
Understanding & prioritization of Customer needs
Team strategy development
Marketing
Assess needs for marketing research and analysis, including (VOC) voice of the customer.
Identify important, non-obvious customer insights and turn into new product concepts
Lead the development, testing and implementation of brand messaging, campaigns, and marketing materials
Develop and execute annual marketing plans and commercialization strategies.
Inspire creativity & collaborate globally
Develop and deploy strategies across Clinical areas of responsibility, given the trends related to the GYN Surgery and L&D portfolios
Lead team in Product launch (Capital, Disposable, Software) strategy and execution
Continually maintain portfolio prioritization and product strategy
Ability to lead & work collaboratively across all US corporate functions, including Sales, Supply Chain, Medical Education, Regulatory, R&D, Medical Affairs and more.
Ability to lead & work strategically with the Sales Organization to understand our internal-customer needs and be acutely in tune to the Customer needs
Ability to lead effectively across CSI on global campaigns, roadmap planning, etc.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Track record of working collaboratively in a matrixed environment
Proven track record of successful portfolio results
Demonstrated outstanding personal, team leadership and change management skills
Demonstrated pattern of intellectual curiosity
A true team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and lead with executives both within the company and with all external stakeholders
Ability to develop pro forma P&Ls and basic understanding of modeling to build and achieve revenue projections
Prolonged sitting in front of a computer

Experience:
7+ years of Director-level Medical Device Marketing experience on a comprehensive, successful portfolio - Surgical Product line experience preferred
5+ years of managerial experience , hiring, supervising and developing direct reports with the ability to manage in matrix environment
Deep knowledge of the medical device space, specifically the OR, L&D, Hospital and ASC markets
3+ years of running Annual Business Planning development and successful championship to management
Education:
Master's Degree required in related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience (eg: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field and 5+ years in product management or marketing role)
Education preferred: Advanced degree, especially MBA in Marketing, General Management, or an advanced scientific degree
