
The Director of Information Technology (IT) provides strategic leadership for all technology operations within the organization. This role oversees IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data governance, and technology innovation to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with business goals. The Director partners closely with executive leadership to shape long‑term technology strategy and drive digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities Decision Making & Systems Expertise Provide operational oversight for IT systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. Assess challenges and develop realistic solutions that address immediate needs while considering overall system impacts.
Technology Operations Oversee daily IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud environments, and end‑user support. Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of all systems. Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management Lead the organization’s cybersecurity program, including threat detection, incident response, and compliance. Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, GDPR depending on industry). Manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Problem Solving & Communication Break down complex IT issues into actionable, cost-effective solutions aligned with organizational realities and priorities. Adapt communication styles to effectively engage senior leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Budgeting and Vendor Management Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective technology investments. Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 8–12 years of progressive IT experience, with on systems management. Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments and leading technical teams.
Technical Skills Deep familiarity with Sage 300/CRM systems and experience with networking, end‑user support, and cybersecurity frameworks. Strong troubleshooting abilities across cloud and on‑prem systems. Hands on understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud). Expertise in networking, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRIS). Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery models.
Leadership & Soft Skills Excellent communication and executive‑level presentation skills. Effective communicator who adapts to different audiences, reads organizational dynamics and fosters collaborative problem‑solving.
