About the AI Living Lab
The AI Living Lab is a community-centered, on-site learning space and reptiletouch-zoo ecosystem in Albuquerque. It blends hands-on AI education, digital literacy, live reptiles, aquatics, and habitat systems. Every week generates real, visual stories from animals, learners, families, and programs.
Position Summary:
This role is for a creative Newsletter & Digital Creator. You are hired for your creative skills and storytelling ability. The position is outcome-focused: digital content must be delivered on Mondays, giving you the weekend to plan, create, and polish. You will produce a monthly newsletter and create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and other appropriate platforms. This is not a desk-only role.
Key Responsibilities
Newsletter Production
Plan, write, and design a monthly AI Living Lab newsletter
Collect stories, photos, and updates from lab activities and programs
Create a clean, readable, and visually engaging layout
Prepare newsletter content for email, PDF, and print distribution
Digital Content Creation
Capture photos and short videos of reptiles, aquatics, habitats, and learning activities
Create reels, stories, short-form videos, graphics, and captions
Develop original content concepts highlighting animals, programs, and events
Publishing and Platforms
Deliver completed weekly digital content by Mondays
Publish and schedule content on Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms
Maintain a consistent visual style and voice
Track engagement and suggest improvements
Print and Visual Support
Design simple flyers, posters, and outreach materials as needed
Create accessible, easy-to-read visuals for community spaces
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications Eligibility
Must be a UNM work-study student
Juniors and seniors only
Must be able to work onsite once/week at the Lab. (taking pictures, developing stories, meeting with the team)
Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
