Director of Pharmacy Services – USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center (South LA)
The USC School of Pharmacy is accepting applications for a Director of Pharmacy Services at the USC Pharmacy and Wellness Center located in South Los Angeles. The Director is responsible for the operation of Pharmacy Services as they relate to dispensing medications and managing clinical services. The role includes strategic planning, day‑to‑day operations, pharmaceutical care, clinical and distributive services, financial management, and personnel management. The Director will lead pharmacy operations, develop quality initiatives, maintain financial integrity, and build collaborative relationships with physicians and nursing staff while educating staff pharmacists to promote greater clinical effectiveness. The Director will also represent Pharmacy in relationships with the on‑site clinic and community clinics, and must have knowledge of Medicare Part B DMEPOS, Medi‑Cal third‑party claims billing, and 340B program guidelines.
As Pharmacist‑In‑Charge, the Director must ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
Required Credentials
- Pharm.D.
- State of California Registered Pharmacist License
- Minimum of 3 years managerial experience
Preferred Credentials
- Minimum of 3 years in a Pharmacist‑in‑charge role
- Experience with federally qualified health center dispensing
- Experience with compounded prescriptions
- Knowledge of the 340B Program from a contract pharmacy perspective
- Experience with outpatient transplant medications
- Experience in high‑volume (>500 prescriptions) environment
- Experience in an academic medical center outpatient pharmacy
The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000–$180,000. Salary will be determined based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and other factors as described in the job posting.
