
Overview
POSITION PURPOSE:
The material handler is responsible for unloading, loading, and stocking all service parts at the service warehouse. Responsibilities
Loads and unloads trucks as required. Stage materials for service parts delivery to retailer and contractors. Stock in-coming materials in warehouse. Help keep warehouse cleaned and organized. Verifies all shipping documents are available for inspection to ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies each delivery route. Inspects all warehouse handling equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Ensures equipment is serviced at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary maintenance problems. Regularly inventories shipping supplies such as boxes and packing materials. Verifies quantity of parts ordered is quantity shipped. Receives and documents parts returned new and D&O. Performs other duties as assigned. Key Business Measures
Complete and on-time staging. Proper loading of parts and materials by individual contractor/retailer and by route. No damage to materials while handling, staging, and loading. Hiring Profile
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Work Experience:
One or more years’ experience as material handler. Experience in the housing industry preferred. Willing to train the right person with a great attitude. Other:
Good interpersonal skills. Some computer skills. Strong verbal communication skills. Enjoys working in team environment. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
