Full Time Sarasota, FL, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1027 The Loan Consultant Trainee role provides an introduction to the mortgage industry through hands-on learning and guided exposure to the loan origination process. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are new to mortgage lending or seeking a career change and are eager to develop foundational knowledge, skills, and professional experience. The trainee will shadow and support experienced team members to gain an understanding of key responsibilities, workflows, and how each role contributes to the overall loan lifecycle. The trainee may assist with assigned tasks, participate in special projects, and observe meetings, presentations, customer interactions, and other workplace activities. What You’ll Do Gain a working understanding of the mortgage industry, loan origination process, and professional work environment Progressively develop the ability to understand, apply, and achieve Loan Consultant framework performance metrics – ER add Learn how different roles and disciplines collaborate to support customers throughout the mortgage process Assist with assigned tasks and special projects under guidance and supervision Observe customer interactions, internal meetings, and training sessions to build industry and role awareness Learn and follow company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements Demonstrate strong professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality Communicate courteously and professionally with internal team members Embrace a customer-first mindset in all interactions and responsibilities This role may require travel to the Division office, community events, and local communities to support relationship-building with the internal community sales team Perform other duties as assigned You might be just who we’re looking for if you have… Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience in customer service, administrative support, financial services, an internship program, and/or completion of an internal company training or education program Maintain an active NMLS license or actively work toward securing state NMLS licensure Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service and building positive customer relationships by engaging in a service-orientated environment Flexibility to work occasional evenings and participate in holiday schedule rotations as part of immersive training and exposure to the day‑to‑day responsibilities of a Loan Consultant Demonstrates a high level of integrity, professionalism, discretion, and respect for confidentiality Strong written, verbal, and active listening communication skills Develop an ability to manage multiple priorities, meet key timelines, and learn to operate effectively under deadlines Demonstrate positive, self‑driven behaviors, actively engage in learning, and commit to continuous development
