Position Overview Client is seeking a Designer I (Scoping Designer) to support distribution system projects through accurate data entry, mapping, and scoping documentation. This role is ideal for candidates with utility design exposure who are comfortable working with mapping tools and technical drawings. The selected candidate will help create detailed diagrams and ensure project data accuracy while collaborating with internal teams.
Education Requirement High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform data entry related to PIF scoping, including measuring and documenting existing cable/conductor lengths.
Complete scope mapping entries and maintain project data in MDI and/or C55 systems.
Create accurate and detailed scoping drawings, diagrams, and maps for distribution systems using PDF editing software.
Consult and interpret mapping data using ArcGIS or similar platforms.
Support distribution design initiatives by ensuring documentation accuracy and completeness.
Required Skills
Experience with PDF editing tools.
Ability to read and interpret utility mapping information using the ArcGIS platform or similar tools.
Exposure to electric utility design concepts.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage technical documentation.
Comfortable working with mapping software and engineering diagrams.
Organized and capable of handling structured data entry tasks.
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Work Environment Hybrid schedule with required onsite presence twice per week. Standard business hours in the Pacific Time Zone. Opportunity to support critical utility infrastructure projects within a regulated environment.
