Description The Digital Content Manager facilitates content management for ASHA’s websites and is responsible for supporting the development, editing, and maintenance of content, including training and user support of office staff in the use of the content management system and other online tools. The Digital Content Manager ensures that ASHA’s websites are well organized, up-to-date, and accessible, as well as define strategies for presentation enhancements.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain ASHA website ecosystem through ASHA’s content management systems and serve as a resource with respect to writing, style, and content structure.
Oversee information architecture (IA), search engine optimization (SEO), and accessibility for ASHA’s digital content.
Collaborate with the user experience team and digital strategist team to implement new sites, content, and architecture to support strategic initiatives and association campaigns.
Manage online projects involving staff from the Communications Dept., other ASHA teams, and units.
Maintain and implement an editorial style guide for ASHA digital content and support the development and maintenance of user experience design standards and guidelines for ASHA digital content.
Working closely with other members of the Digital Production team, manage the distributed publishing program at the National Office, including training of staff on the content management system.
Provide user and technical support for content management systems and coordinate with vendor and IS support staff as needed to resolve issues.
Document this role’s standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with the digital strategist team on ASHA.org homepage updating news and features, and other landing pages as needed across the web ecosystem. Provide support for crisis communications team to disseminate information and other updates as needed.
Qualifications Knowledge Typically Acquired Through
A minimum of 4 years’ experience developing and maintaining websites in a professional environment (association or non-profit preferred)
Relevant experience in editing and writing \ing education in the field of content strategy, information architecture, and search engine optimization
Skills Expert familiarity with current digital technologies
Professional experience with at least one enterprise-level content management system.
Expert knowledge of HTML and a variety of HTML authoring tools.
Basic knowledge of web development coding standards (e.g., Bootstrap Framework, CSS, XML, JQuery, ASP.NET) is helpful.
Familiarity with web analytics platform such as Google.
Demonstrated excellence in web writing and editing
Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
Experience using Photoshop or other imaging software
Advanced knowledge of multimedia content delivery technologies
Familiarity with principles of page layout and design is helpful
Advanced knowledge of usability and user experience design is helpful
