Position Overview
Our mission-driven human services client is seeking a dedicated
Behavior Intervention Specialist
to support individuals with developmental disabilities through assessment, intervention, and training. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals build skills, improve quality of life, and achieve greater independence through evidence-based behavioral supports.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, highly trained in behavioral or clinical services, and motivated to work collaboratively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities Provide behavioral services including assessments, evaluations, consultations, and interventions Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior support and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory requirements Collaborate with care managers, advocates, and individuals served to design effective behavioral strategies Deliver education and training related to behavioral, psychological, and support services Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and ongoing evaluations Support staff and caregivers through guidance, training, and supervision related to behavior plans Maintain accurate documentation and service records Job Requirements
Qualifications
Master's degree in Behavior Analysis or a related clinical or human services field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Applied Psychology, or similar OPWDD-approved discipline) One of the following credentials required:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), or NYS License in Mental Health Counseling with OPWDD-approved behavioral training or experience
Minimum of one year of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
