
SUMMARY
The Inside Sales Manager is accountable for end-to-end ownership of inside sales execution, pre-sale operations support, pricing, and project planning delivery. This role provides leadership, performance management, workflow orchestration, quality oversight, and cross-functional alignment across all internal sales and execution functions that support revenue generation. This includes hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, workload prioritization, and accountability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directly manage and develop all Project Planners, Inside Sales Account Managers, and Pricing and Sales Support Specialists
Establish clear role expectations, performance standards, and KPIs for each function
Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning to address performance gaps, workload imbalances, and behavioral issues
Own workload distribution and prioritization across project planning and design, pricing and sales support execution, and inside account management
Balance capacity across roles to meet sales demand, deadlines, and service-level expectations
Identify bottlenecks, skill gaps, or process failures impacting throughput and proactively communicate risks, delays, or constraints to Sales leadership
Ensure strategic account plans, upsell/cross-sell efforts, and retention strategies are executed
Monitor pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and account performance metrics
Support CRM hygiene and data integrity across all sales-supporting roles
Ensure pricing workflows integrate cleanly with planning and sales execution
Maintain accountability for documentation across CRM, quoting, and project systems and monitor quote turnaround times, revision cycles, and quality trends
Ensure output meets accuracy and departmental standards
Monitor revision cycles and root causes of rework
Ensure proper collaboration between Planning, Pricing and Sales Support, and Sales

Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience managing multi‑role, execution‑heavy sales operations teams
Advanced coaching, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
Experience in a sales‑driven, project‑based organization
Proficiency with CRM systems, Excel, and sales operations tools
Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
Results‑oriented with a proactive approach to sales and customer service.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.
