Overview
Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. Purpose The Clinical Director, Residential is responsible for clinical operational oversight and performance for Thompson Residential programs. Success will be primarily measured through core data points: financial performance, staff retention/engagement data and program outcomes/quality data. Program leaders are expected to model principles of the Leadership Pipeline as a Leader of Others.
Primary Responsibilities
Will use a trauma-informed approach in their daily work and interactions with others using the principles of CARE: Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship Based, Competence Centered, Trauma Informed, and Ecologically Oriented.
Proactive coaching and feedback to ensure professional development and growth of direct reports.
Setting programmatic objectives, defining roles, and prioritizing tasks for direct reports.
Effective proactive communication in all directions (up, down, sideways) to ensure program needs are met.
Recruit, interview and selection of top tier talent for their program staff.
Conduct thorough and well-documented assessments of direct reports performance.
Proactively address performance issues and replace team members who consistently fall short of delivering on their objectives.
Create an open and trusting environment where teamwork and collaboration is valued.
Compliance with the agency Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to ensure program data and outcome goals are met.
Ensure internal and external clinical standards are met regarding records, documentation and general services provided.
Coordinate and liaison with internal and external stakeholders to represent the program and its needs.
Act as a role model across the organization for other staff regarding professionalism, positivity and teamwork.
Respond and address to any client/parent/guardian complaints/concerns.

Leaders of other’s skills that they must display to be successful at this level include: planning, job design, delegating, coaching/giving feedback, performance management, creating rewards and motivation, and communicating/climate setting in their programs.
What does this position offer?
Starting Pay Range: $75,000 to $85,000 annually

Requirements Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Must have valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program(s) they lead.
Education requirements for a Clinical Supervisor is a master’s or doctoral degree and an active clinical licensure in NC. Associate licensed clinicians are not eligible to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates with a clinical supervisor license
Verified 3 years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in a related field
Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or actual leadership positions
Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader

The employee must be capable of running a distance as required in the apprehension of a fleeing youth.
