Previous experience as a barista within Beans Cafe
Beans Coffee Shop is a fast-paced working environment, especially for our managers, who might be called on to troubleshoot or problem solve on any number of things from equipment issues to financial questions to employee concerns.
Managers are not expected to work regular barista hours, but may be requested to step in on shifts where baristas require retraining, or during a rush.
The majority of a manager’s work is clerical and/or administrative.
Managers, as with baristas, will be working in the same area as heating elements—such as our toaster oven, burrito warmer, and our milk steam wands—and are urged to use caution and common sense.
Physical Activities
As above, managers may be expected to fill in shifts or assist with shifts, requiring some time on their feet.
All managers are expected to be able to do some lifting of items of 20 lbs, and during shift this can be frequently (gallons of milk, boxes of supplies, etc).
Shifts require being able to stand on one’s feet for 2-3 hours without a break.
In your cover letter, please answer the following questions:
In working with events, you have to be extremely organized and have excellent communication skills via email, in person and occasionally phone calling. How do you expect to excel at staying organized and communicating?
What ideas or creative insights do you have for events next year?
If you had an unhappy client whether they were dissatisfied with their event or a catering order with us, how would you go about handling that situation?
