Job Summary The Senior Strategy Consultant is a senior strategic advisor who strengthens performance, accountability, and the culture of resource stewardship across Mass General Brigham. This role ensures that system-level resource stewardship strategies are translated into actionable plans and that teams operate with the discipline, alignment, and behaviors required to deliver measurable impact.

The Strategy Consultant partners directly with senior leaders and executive sponsors to shape the resource stewardship strategy within specific domain areas (e.g. Workforce Effectiveness, Clinical Supplies), including developing a multi-year roadmap, prioritizing work, and enabling organizational readiness from idea through implementation, impact realization and continued monitoring. To achieve this, the Strategy Consultant connects stakeholders across the organization and facilitates strategic conversations to keep the domain area strategy cohesive and focused on organizational priorities.

Through leadership coaching, decision facilitation, engagement strategy development, and culture shaping, this role reinforces resource stewardship as a systemwide expectation and builds capability for sustainable success.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field of study required Master's Degree in a related field of study preferred Experience

3+ years of experience in consulting, finance, corporate strategy, or other equivalent healthcare role required Experience in strategy execution, enterprise transformation, program or portfolio management, or consulting within a large, matrixed organization (healthcare preferred). Proven experience advising senior leaders, shaping strategic roadmaps, and facilitating governance or executive decision-making. Demonstrated experience in guiding cultural or operational change and strengthening leadership capability. Top responsibilities:

Partner with senior leaders and executive sponsors to define resource stewardship strategies and multi-year roadmaps, ensuring priorities align with system goals and stewardship principles. Convert high-level enterprise objectives into clear, actionable plans that guide domain focus and decision-making. Evaluate competing priorities and recommend tradeoffs that maximize enterprise value while adhering to stewardship principles. Lead discussions with senior leaders to clarify direction, surface barriers, and strengthen shared accountability for outcomes. Apply program management discipline to link idea intake, prioritization, feasibility, readiness, implementation, and sustainability into a coherent operating rhythm. Monitor domain health across timelines, impacts, risks, interdependencies, and performance drivers to ensure balanced and achievable portfolios. Coach teams on structured governance practices, oversee quality of deliverables (charters, feasibility assessments, benefits plans), and support readiness checks for successful adoption. Serve as a strategic advisor on communication and engagement plans-ensuring updates, leadership materials, and messaging are timely, targeted, and aligned with systemwide priorities. Model stewardship behaviors, foster psychologically safe environments, and build capability in strategic thinking, prioritization, and collaborative problem-solving. Collaborate with portfolio operations, finance, and other partners to align data and decisions, and contribute to evolving governance frameworks and operating standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams and work independently. Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Tableau, SQL, or other analytics/visualization tools preferred. Knowledge of healthcare data sources such as claims/billing, SG2, CMS datasets, and others preferred. Strategic and systems thinking; ability to link goals, data, decisions, and operational realities. Advanced facilitation, coaching, and relationship-building skills across senior audiences. Strong capability in portfolio thinking, prioritization, and translating insights into action. Deep understanding of governance, change management, and continuous improvement. Exceptional communication and influence skills; ability to distill complexity into actionable direction. Comfort navigating ambiguity while balancing strategic and tactical needs.

Working Schedule:

Hybrid, onsite requirement 3x per month at Assembly Row in Somerville, MA. Other onsite presence at MGB sites may be required due to business needs.
