The Role
We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented
Digital Transformation Portfolio Lead
to drive the planning, prioritization, and execution of digital initiatives across the enterprise. This role is critical in managing the digital project portfolio, aligning projects with organizational goals, optimizing resource distribution, and ensuring substantial business impact. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a thorough understanding of digital transformation, and a commitment to maximizing the value of GM's digital investments. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Portfolio Strategy & Governance Lead the management of the digital project portfolio to ensure it aligns with our enterprise strategy and priorities. Develop and fine-tune portfolio management frameworks, including project intake and evaluation criteria. Ensure comprehensive visibility into ongoing digital initiatives, dependencies, risks, and performance metrics. Program & Portfolio Leadership Oversee the entire digital project portfolio, enhancing clarity and cohesive impact across departments. Identify and eliminate duplicative efforts while ensuring effective resource utilization. Create and maintain portfolio-level roadmaps, performance indicators, dashboards, and business cases. Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment Act as a strategic collaborator with business leaders, technical teams, and executives. Facilitate alignment among leadership levels to maintain transparency in decision-making. Present insights and trade-offs from the portfolio to inform enterprise-level decisions. Execution Oversight & Value Delivery Track project performance, ensuring all initiatives meet scope, timing, and value metrics. Proactively manage risks and cross-project dependencies to facilitate timely issue resolution. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methods and portfolio management practices. Required Qualifications ) Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a relevant field. 5+ years of experience in program or portfolio management with a focus on digital transformation. Familiarity with portfolio management tools and methodologies. What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) 7+ years in a similar role within large organizations. Proven success in managing complex portfolios with multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills. This role will primarily be remote; however, candidates residing within a specific distance from a GM hub may be required to report to the location three times a week or as directed by management.
