The salary range for this role is: $64,000 - $120,000

The Opportunity Join our team as a Marine Underwriting Support Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing underwriting operations within our business line. Your responsibilities will include preparing and examining documentation, managing client records, processing submissions and renewals, and mentoring junior operations underwriters. Key Responsibilities

* Streamline underwriting operations by effectively following established guidelines to assess and rate exposures. * Mentor and develop junior operations underwriters by offering guidance, fostering partnerships with stakeholders, and delivering technical training. * Ensure efficient operational underwriting by organizing and documenting new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations, as well as preparing legal notices and underwriting quotes. * Analyze underwriting data and accurately apply it in the pricing model. * Maintain and track key reporting databases, follow up on sensitive documents, and manage collateral receipts and areas of concern. * Use customer relationship management tools to manage and update client files, ensuring they reflect the current state. * Build and nurture relationships with internal and external customers, soliciting necessary underwriting information and addressing inquiries. * Participate in operational projects aimed at reviewing and designing new process modules and evaluating market dynamics for compliance and business growth. * Collaborate with stakeholders to share insights, propose underwriting solutions, and guide clients. * Contribute positively to our work culture by promoting accountability, diversity, continuous improvement, and teamwork. Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience. * A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience. Preferred Skills/Competencies

* Understanding of market trends and organizational strategies. * Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and build professional networks. * Strong initiative and the capacity to communicate information clearly to various audiences. * Logical problem-solving abilities and a passion for mentoring others. * Commitment to building beneficial relationships with internal and external parties. Preferred Experience

* Knowledge of Marine underwriting operations or the broader insurance industry. Compensation Package The salary range for this role is provided above. Salary offers are primarily based on the role's complexity, location, and the candidate's background. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance.
