Title: Associate Director of Enterprise Risk Management
The opportunity
In our Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management (ECRM) team, you will support our people in managing the risks that arise in their day-to-day activities. As the Associate Director for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), you will be instrumental in driving our risk strategy, executing our three-year roadmap, and partnering with senior leadership to integrate ERM into strategic planning and decision-making across the US Firm. You will also act as a key liaison to EY Global Risk Management, ensuring that our strategies and methodologies are aligned with global standards.
Your role will play a pivotal part in strengthening our firm’s risk posture by embedding ERM in various operational and strategic processes. You will oversee enterprise risk assessments, risk appetite alignment, and executive reporting, while also enhancing our risk management practices across the US Firm.
Your key responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
Guide the US Firm ERM team; establish a risk-aware culture; collaborate with cross-functional leaders; and provide strategic risk guidance. Risk Assessment:
Oversee risk identification and analysis, maintain risk taxonomies, and develop advanced assessment methods. Risk Mitigation & Control:
Develop and monitor control frameworks, partner with teams to evaluate control effectiveness, and align with EY Global control expectations. Reporting & Communication:
Prepare executive-level reports that convey key trends and emerging risks, while ensuring proper communication with senior leadership. Framework & Process Development:
Establish and mature governance and methodologies for ERM. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
Ensure activities align with regulatory expectations and support relevant audits and reviews. Continuous Improvement:
Enhance ERM processes through industry benchmarking, technology adoption, and data analytics. Lead complex initiatives requiring advanced analysis and strategic judgment. Interpret regulatory requirements to make informed decisions. Influence the development of firm risk appetite levels in line with global expectations. Recommend ERM technology solutions. Translate the firm’s risk profile into actionable insights for leadership. Identify opportunities to align risk management with the firm’s strategy. Skills and attributes for success Strategic thinker who can consider a range of factors when prioritizing issues. Ability to integrate ERM with corporate strategy and transformation agendas. Executive-level communication skills to simplify complex concepts. Influential leader capable of driving cross-functional initiatives. Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Proficiency in risk management software and tools. Strong relationships with key stakeholders across ECRM and other functions. To qualify you must have Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. 10-12+ years of ERM experience in a multinational environment, including 5+ years in leadership roles. Experience in building risk management functions. Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance. Proven success in developing governance structures and executive reporting. Ideally, you'll also have MBA desirable. Professional certifications such as RIMS-CRMP or FRM. Expertise in quantitative risk analysis and modeling.
