The Role

Join the GEOS Digital Transformation team as a visionary

Digital Ecosystems Designer . In this exciting role, you will design, orchestrate, and enhance the digital capabilities that drive GM's enterprise ecosystem. You will take charge of defining the architecture, integration patterns, and strategies that establish reliable sources of truth across the organization. Your leadership will shape the future of GM's digital landscape, ensuring seamless data, platform, and service interoperability while driving cross-functional alignment and building scalable, secure digital experiences.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Enterprise Ecosystem Architecture

Define the comprehensive architecture for GM's digital ecosystem, incorporating platforms, data flows, APIs, and integration frameworks.

Establish architectural standards that promote interoperability, scalability, and resilience.

Evaluate emerging technologies and ecosystem models to inform long-term digital strategy.

Platform & Integration Strategy

Design and enhance connections among enterprise platforms, digital products, and partner systems.

Lead API strategy development, event-driven architectures, and shared services to facilitate seamless data exchange.

Ensure alignment of platform roadmaps with enterprise ecosystem requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

Collaborate with engineering, product, data, and business teams to align ecosystem architecture with strategic priorities.

Translate complex architectural concepts into clear business value for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Guide teams in implementing ecosystem-aligned design patterns and integration best practices.

Governance, Security & Lifecycle Management

Establish governance models for ecosystem components, including APIs and integration assets.

Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Manage the lifecycle of ecosystem services, focusing on reliability and continuous improvement.

Your Skills & Abilities

(Required Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, integration architecture, or digital platform engineering.

In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and Application architecture.

Demonstrated success in leading architectural initiatives across complex, matrixed environments.

Outstanding communication, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge

(Preferred Qualifications)

12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, integration architecture, or digital platform engineering.

Proficiency in API design, data integration, and modern ecosystem patterns such as microservices and event streaming.

This role is available for remote work. However, if the chosen candidate resides within a specified radius of a GM hub, they will need to be present in the office three times a week as directed by their manager. Candidates should be prepared for travel as needed.

This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.
