Overview
The Nebraska Association of School Boards seeks a Board Leadership Engagement Associate to support the design and delivery of Board Leadership programs that strengthen local governance, strategic planning, and community engagement across Nebraska school districts. This position works closely with the Director of Board Leadership and contributes to department-wide planning, service delivery, and strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator, analytical thinker, and relationship-builder who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments.
Responsibilities
Facilitate meetings, listening sessions, and data collection activities.
Create customized district strategic planning processes.
Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting for program development.
Support survey development, coding, data analysis, and report design.
Maintain strong relationships with statewide education leaders.
Participate in cross-training and professional development.
Track and manage service-related expenses.
Support ongoing plan implementation and progress monitoring.
Adapt to evolving district needs by adjusting services and support as priorities change.
Qualifications Essential
Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Comfortable working with elected officials and executive leadership.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Preferred
24 years experience, or comfortability, in facilitation, consulting, and client-facing roles.
Experience in public education, community engagement, governance, or nonprofits.
Work Environment & Travel
Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional evenings/weekends.
Regular statewide travel required, including some overnight trips.
