The Opportunity

We are looking for a forward-thinking

SEO / GEO Manager

who understands that search has evolved far beyond blue links. In this role, you will lead the evolution of organic discovery by bridging

traditional SEO with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) . Your mission is to ensure that when patients, caregivers, or Healthcare Professionals ask questions on Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or other generative platforms, they receive

accurate, compliant, and high-quality information . You will operate at the intersection of

technology, marketing, and regulation , driving AI-ready content strategies while navigating complex

Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR)

review processes. You will also provide strategic direction and oversight to an external SEO agency partner.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced SEO & GEO Strategy

Lead organic search strategy beyond keywords, ensuring search engines understand relationships between brands, conditions, and scientific data. Own

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

and Answer Engine Optimization strategies for AI-driven platforms, including AI Overviews and LLM-based search experiences. Audit and optimize content for AI visibility with a focus on

citation authority, structured data, and content architecture . Oversee technical SEO health across a portfolio of websites using Google Search Console and related tools. Drive implementation of advanced

Schema markup

such as MedicalWebPage, Drug, and FAQ to improve machine readability. Collaborate with agency partners to develop

compliant AI workflows

that support SEO tasks such as metadata generation and AI search analysis. Make content recommendations for

conversational and question-based queries , ensuring NLP models can easily retrieve and surface accurate answers. Stay ahead of emerging AI search trends and translate them into scalable SEO practices.

Cross-Functional Leadership & MLR Navigation

Serve as a bridge between fast-moving SEO initiatives and regulated MLR requirements. Partner closely with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory stakeholders to align SEO execution with compliance standards. Educate internal teams and senior leadership on GEO, AI search, and the business impact of modern SEO. Manage external SEO agencies and hold them accountable for performance tied to engagement quality and sentiment, not just traffic.

Who You Are

A seasoned SEO professional with deep roots in traditional search and a strong appetite for AI-driven disruption. A technical expert who understands how

LLMs retrieve information , including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and how to structure content accordingly. A strong communicator who can explain technical SEO and GEO concepts to non-technical, compliance-focused stakeholders. A proactive changemaker who defines best practices rather than waiting for them to be written.

Qualifications

7+ years

of experience in SEO or Digital Marketing. 2+ years

of experience in a

highly regulated industry

such as Pharma, Biotech, Finance, or Insurance. Demonstrated understanding of

GEO and AI-driven search behavior ; hands-on experience optimizing for generative platforms is a strong plus. Deep technical knowledge of

Schema.org, structured data, and knowledge graph concepts . Experience navigating

MLR or PRC review cycles . Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
