Highmark Health Job Description: JOB SUMMARY Highmark Health is seeking a strategic leader to take charge of Delivery Management, ensuring effective oversight of projects and programs aimed at enhancing operations across the organization. The Director will be pivotal in continuously improving the Systems Operations Model (SOM) and will implement corrective actions to achieve consistent excellent performance metrics. This role includes defining, tracking, and realizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to maintain or surpass target thresholds. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of projects focused on resolving operational inefficiencies and optimizing results. He or she will lead a dedicated team that provides essential administrative support, employing Six Sigma and Agile methodologies to drive change and value realization. Additionally, the Director will oversee documentation, training, and change management initiatives associated with the Highmark Delivery Excellence methodology, interacting with internal teams and external partners. Regular operating reviews with key stakeholders will be conducted to present performance updates and strategic action plans. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manage departmental responsibilities, including staff hiring and termination processes, coaching and professional development, performance management, and maintaining productivity; oversee day-to-day operations and implement necessary policies and programs, possibly with budgetary oversight. Provide direct coaching to the executive leadership team on agile and operational effectiveness in collaboration with the enterprise effectiveness team. Attend leadership meetings to present performance progress, influence strategic direction, and align objectives. Collaborate with all management levels to form project teams that will drive outcomes needed for defined projects and programs. Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiencies. Lead the Operational Excellence department by developing a strategic roadmap, establishing priority initiatives, and executing operational improvement projects. Ensure alignment with enterprise effectiveness goals. Analyze enterprise-wide practices to identify improvement opportunities, implement performance enhancement programs, and manage operational initiatives through a disciplined program management approach using Six Sigma and Agile principles. Perform additional related duties as assigned. EDUCATION Required Bachelor's Degree Substitutions 6 years of experience in an operational excellence role may substitute for education. Preferred Master's Degree in Operational Excellence, Business Administration/Management, or Clinical Programs. EXPERIENCE Minimum 10 years in Project Management, including: 5 years in the Healthcare Industry 5 years in a Leadership role 7 years applying Lean/Six Sigma or similar disciplines. Preferred None LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS Required Black Belt certification Preferred Master Black Belt Agile Scrum Certification SKILLS Leading organizational change Strong written and verbal presentation skills Managing large-scale projects Effective organization and prioritization abilities Budget management capabilities Financial acumen People management experience Language: (Other than English) None Travel Requirement: 0% - 25% PHYSICAL, MENTAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS Position Type Office-based role with regular teaching or training responsibilities. Occasional travel from the office to various work locations is required. Physical tasks may be required, including lifting weights up to 10 pounds constantly.
