Inside Sales & Service Representative
at our Ann Arbor, MI location.
Pay $18 to $25 per year.
About the Role You will:
Meet or exceed sales targets set by your Manager.
Work with the Profit Center Manager to establish revenue and margin targets.
Accurately process Sales Orders and Bids generated through telephone sales transactions.
Assist customers who pick up orders at our Profit Center.
Find innovative ways to grow sales with existing customers and become their trusted advisor.
Generate sales leads that develop into new customers.
Identify opportunities for value‑added services and articulate our solutions.
Investigate and resolve customer problems, address pricing deductions and material returns in accordance with Company policy, and follow up to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
Support Counter and Outside Sales activities and all Profit Center activities as part of our team.
Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might create a credit risk.
Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
About You
1 year of experience in customer service or inside sales; contractor sales preferred.
Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center is preferred.
Effectively use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, maintain weekly sales plans, call reports, customer contact files, and analyze customer data.
Demonstrate outstanding customer service and telephone/verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate product knowledge to answer customer questions and identify upsell or cross‑sell opportunities.
Build influential relationships and trust with customers and vendors through open, interactive communication.
Ask probing questions to understand customer needs, overcome objections, recommend profitable solutions, explain our value‑added services, and close the sale.
Build positive working relationships and inspire teamwork with co‑workers.
Learn and operate the computer‑related systems used to process orders.
Learn to operate warehouse material‑handling equipment.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
