Position Overview The Business Development Specialist is responsible for expanding PGS’s footprint across long-term care facilities by identifying, qualifying, and connecting with potential partners. This role exists to drive strategic growth through facility engagement, lead generation, and successful onboarding hand-offs to our Account Management team. It is a highly collaborative, outreach-oriented position requiring strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Identifying, qualifying, and researching potential partner facilities within assigned region, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, and other long-term care communities. Conduct outreach through a combination of cold calls, in-person visits, emails, and LinkedIn.
Schedule presentations with qualified leads and the VP of Business Development.
Maintain accurate information about leads and customer interactions. Ensure that all fields are updated to ensure accurate reporting.
Monitor and stay up to date on industry trends and customer activity to identify new business opportunities.
Collaborate with Regional Liaison (Account Management) team to facilitate smooth hand-off during new facility onboarding process.
Track and meet individual KPIs, including number of contacts, number of presentations scheduled, and number of signed/started facilities.
Requirements
2+ years of experience in healthcare industry business development required.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare or related field preferred.
Experience in the long-term care industry (nursing home, assisted living, independent living) or behavioral health preferred.
Must reside in Virginia.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel.
25% to 75% travel within assigned territory. Travel is primarily local/regional and may include occasional overnight stays.
Typical Physical Demands This position requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, computer, and other office equipment is also required. Must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
