
WordPress Web Optimization Specialist: SEO + CRO (Contract)

The Role We're hiring a WordPress Web Optimization Specialist (SEO + CRO) to own and improve Tiger Tracks' website experience, paid media landing pages, and SEO foundation.
This role exists to eliminate bottlenecks. You'll be responsible for shipping fast, improving conversion rates, and proactively maintaining a clean, high-performing WordPress site. Paid media landing pages should launch quickly, convert well, and be easy to iterate. SEO improvements should be planned, implemented, and measured, not reactive.
This is a contractor role (20-30 hours/week minimum) reporting to the Director of Client Success (Marketing), with tight collaboration across marketing, paid media, creative, and leadership.
What You Will Do
Build, launch, and iterate high-converting paid media landing pages (UX, layout, form flow, speed, tracking readiness)
Own ongoing website updates: new pages, content updates, layout and navigation changes, mobile responsiveness
Execute technical SEO improvements, including: Crawlability and indexation, Core Web Vitals and site speed, Sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicals, redirects, Broken link remediation and schema markup
Establish and run a simple intake → prioritization → delivery workflow with clear SLAs, QA checklists, and weekly releases
Maintain a clean WordPress environment (plugin governance, updates, staging and testing workflows)
Build reusable landing page templates (Elementor sections or custom blocks) so pages can ship quickly
Improve site performance by auditing plugins, optimizing assets, compressing images, and coordinating caching/CDN settings
Own SEO implementation in WordPress (metadata, internal linking, on-page structure, indexation)
What You Bring
3-6+ years of experience building and optimizing WordPress websites in a performance-driven environment
Proven experience shipping paid media landing pages and improving conversion rate through UX, speed, and layout changes
Demonstrated technical SEO experience with real outcomes (CWV improvements, crawl/index fixes, redirect hygiene, schema)
A portfolio with before/after examples showing landing pages, speed improvements, or SEO fixes
Strong WordPress fundamentals: themes, templates, menus, page hierarchy, staging and deployment workflows
Comfort working in page builders such as Elementor
Some HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript knowledge for debugging and customization
Experience optimizing performance through caching, image compression (WebP), lazy loading, and plugin management
Strong QA discipline and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver within 2-5 business day turnaround windows
Availability during US Eastern Time hours
Bonus Points
CRO tooling experience (Hotjar, Clarity, Optimizely, VWO)
HTML/CSS/JS comfort and basic PHP for safe template edits or child themes
Familiarity with WordPress security and accessibility best practices
Experience supporting WordPress SEO migrations
Google Analytics certification or SEO coursework
