The Zapara School of Business seeks a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager to lead student recruitment and partnership development for the External MBA Degree Program. This role is critical to achieving enrollment growth for existing and new MBA cohorts while building long-term institutional and corporate relationships that support sustained program expansion. The Business Development Manager will identify and cultivate opportunities within targeted MBA vertical markets, leveraging a strong understanding of competitive positioning to present the Zapara School of Business MBA as a strategic leadership and workforce development solution for working professionals and organizational partners. The role requires awareness of industry and workforce trends within MBA concentration areas to ensure recruitment strategies align with evolving market needs. This position carries significant responsibility for enrollment growth and strategic market expansion for the Zapara School of Business. Key Responsibilities

Student Recruitment

Responsible for achieving annual enrollment goals by overseeing the recruitment of approximately 200 new Cohort students annually. Direct and manage the applicant pipeline from initial inquiry through registration, providing personalized, high-touch service. Align prospective students’ professional goals with MBA program offerings to support informed enrollment decisions. Partnership Development

Establish a minimum of five new institutional or corporate partnerships annually. Cultivate long-term relationships with existing partners to generate 100+ qualified leads per year. Position the MBA program as a workforce development and leadership solution aligned with partner organizational goals. Outreach & Marketing

Lead six or more targeted outreach campaigns annually (information sessions, digital advertising, and email campaigns) to generate 300+ qualified leads. Monitor and develop lead conversion metrics across the recruitment funnel (lead > interview > application > acceptance > registration > start). Lead the development of recruitment messaging and marketing content, including student, alumni, and faculty stories, to strengthen program visibility. Oversee social media engagement with a minimum of 25 posts per month to build brand awareness and inquiries. Alumni Engagement

Identify alumni networking opportunities to expand program awareness, organizational engagement, resources, and lead generation. Invite at least five alumni annually to serve as guest speakers or classroom contributors. Identify a minimum of one alumni success story per quarter to enhance employer engagement and strengthen the alumni network. Strategy, Reporting & Collaboration

Track recruitment outcomes, assess performance against goals, and refine strategies to improve results. Provide weekly written and oral performance reports to the Director. Support the hiring, training, and supervision of junior staff and student employees involved in recruitment. Collaborate cross-functionally with university leadership and academic units to advance shared enrollment and partnership goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MBA degree required or in progress. Minimum of five years of experience in business development, enrollment management, recruitment, sales, or partnership development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated business acumen with strong interpersonal, public speaking, and communication skills. Knowledge of competitive market positioning, and the ability to assess program strengths and weaknesses relative to competing MBA offerings. Ability to analyze and interpret scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents. Strong quantitative, analytical, and reasoning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or enrollment systems. Seventh-day Adventist preferred. Additional Information

Quarterly submission of business plan outlining target market, account strategies for account penetrations, activities, and challenges. Demonstrated familiarity with Zapara School of Business and La Sierra University policies and procedures. Availability for occasional evenings and weekend responsibilities. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision. Physical demands include frequent sitting, talking, and use of hands; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
