About Impactis

Impactis has validated product market fit, building a platform and talent marketplace to support 1M promising students each year with scholarship funding, mentorship, and professional networks — powered by scholarship-giving professionals and companies.

Our product enables individuals and organizations to:

  • Create personalized, interactive scholarships in minutes.

  • Volunteer through mentorship, awareness sessions, projects, mock interviews, and internships to discover job-ready profiles with evidence of skills and temperament.

  • Form communities of professionals aligned by cause, alma mater, or company.

Impactis is being built as a sustainable, self-funded business with angel, mission-driven, and patient capital. VC funding is optional, not a default. Our goal is to build an enduring institution, not to sell quickly.

  • Early validation with paying users, corporate pilots (Salesforce, Standard Chartered++), and positive coverage (Economic Times, Founders Story++)

  • Infrastructure designed for global scalability (multi-currency, multi-country, multi-lingual, engagement platform, payments, accounting & transparency rails).

  • Corporate demand for employee volunteering + co-funded scholarships already in pilot.

We’re looking for a second-time builder — someone who has shipped and scaled a consumer or marketplace product before, and is ready for a second run with more ownership.

Your Role

As Founding CTO & Co-founder , you will:

  • Own architecture, security, and tech roadmap from v1 → scale.

  • Direct and orchestrate engineering efforts, including managing hires, interns, and leveraging AI tools.

  • Partner with the CEO and Business Co-founder on product strategy, growth, and capital allocation .

  • Build a lean, high-ownership team and culture.

About You

  • Strong full-stack experience (React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS).

  • Track record of building & scaling a consumer-facing product.

  • Appetite for ambiguity and bias to ship .

  • Evidence of pursuing hard things relentlessly.

  • Builder-first mindset, with the imagination and drive to build an institution, not just an app .

Getting Started

  • Begin with 20–30% commitment in the first 1–2 months (equity-compensated for time value).

  • Transition to full-time after mutual alignment.

  • Bring$25-50K as skin-in-the-game capital for shared success.

  • Be financially self-sufficient for ~12 months until salaries kick in from revenue or sustainable funding.

Equity & Structure

  • 15% minimum equity , flexible upward to ~40% based on milestones, scope, and capital contribution.

  • 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff. Part-time months accrue pro-rata vesting.
