Collections Specialist Denials

Job Title: Collections Specialist - Denials Department: Patient Accounts Location: Maury Regional Medical Center - Columbia TN Shift: Full-Time Day Shift Mon-Fri Job Summary: The Collection Specialist is responsible for performing credit analysis on all accounts, ensuring claims are paid correctly according to contract, and providing specific details if claims are paid incorrectly and require an underpayment appeal or overpayment refund. The specialist identifies patient liability, transfers balances to patients, determines if overpayments result from patient or insurance payments, processes refunds for overpayments, and ensures payment transfers are applied correctly. They work closely with the Contract department to ensure compliance with contracts.
