
Fire Systems Sales Representative
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Systems Sales Representative for our fire safety business. The Sales Rep's focus will be on developing new opportunities via contractors and end-users by managing and growing the business through new construction, renovations and retro-fits within their assigned territory. The responsibilities include: Selling fire alarm systems and other related systems. Achieving orders/booking and gross margin goals. Achieving minimum annual quota assigned by manager on a consistent basis after initial ramp up period. Creating new market share by selling a broad range of products and services to new customers. Demonstrating strong prospecting skills and the ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling and promoting customer confidence in Sciens. Searching for and qualifying opportunities on an ongoing basis; following up with prospects in a timely manner. Conducting post-installation follow up by contacting customers, ensuring commitments were met and affirming customer satisfaction once the customer has purchased a system. Performing needs assessments, developing sales proposals, estimates, specifications and presentations. Providing accurate forecast of activity and potential sales. Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of complete line of products/services and customers' issues and needs through in-house training, networking, and research. Utilizing approved marketing materials to present sales presentations and proposals to prospects, assuring the customer understands our value proposition, positive features, and advantages of our products and services over those of the competition. Independently establishing call plans and customer follow up strategies and tactics; consistently applying time and territory management techniques. Influencing new construction specifications through engineering relationships and educational meetings/presentations. Working with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to obtain sales. Developing and executing tactical sales strategies, including end users, developers, consulting engineers, and contractors. Preparing sales promotion campaigns for customers to promote product lines to commercial markets. Actively participating in the design team model of design-build, and design-bid-build style projects in collaboration with engineering department. The ideal candidate should have: Two to five years meeting and succeeding quotas of selling fire alarm systems to contractors and end users. Consistent sales performance, ability to organically grow business by providing solutions to new client base. Consistently met or exceeded quota in fire alarm sales for the past 2-5 years. In-depth understanding of fire alarm life safety systems, low voltage systems, installation and testing. Minimum of NICET level IV-certified in fire alarm systems. Technical aptitude with understanding of drawings and codes. Experience selling technical solutions through the contracting tier. Effective communication skills and ability to present before broad audiences. Strong negotiation skills and competitive spirit. Ability to travel by air and/or ground overnight, as necessary.
