Do you thrive on the water, enjoy keeping crews and passengers safe, and love being part of a team that brings Fort Wayne's rivers to life? We're looking for a reliable, attentive, and enthusiastic First Mate to help run tours on the Sweet Breeze. What You'll Do Greet passengers, ensure comfort and safety, and answer questions Assist with seasonal launching, docking, and vessel prep Manage PA and entertainment systems, maintain cleanliness of boat and dock Handle ticketing and cash as assigned Monitor weather, river conditions, and inventory of supplies Assist Captain, Deck Hand, Docent, and other crew during tours and special events Enforce Park & Recreation Department rules and policies Who You Are Strong communicator with a professional, team-oriented attitude Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive on the water Flexible and reliable with evening, weekend, and holiday availability Passionate about safety, passenger experience, and the Sweet Breeze mission Qualifications High school diploma or GED Boating experience preferred, knowledge of downtown Fort Wayne rivers a plus Indiana Boating Safety Course Certificate, First Aid & CPR, Valid Indiana Driver's License Equal Opportunity Employer Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable drug screening, physical examination, and background checks.
