Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Description


The role of a Customs and Border Protection Officer is to enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations. This involves facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel while preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods.


Job Requirements



  • Detecting potential threats to national security by utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis;

  • Making rapid, accurate judgments in relation to law enforcement methods;

  • Conducting interviews with suspected violators of laws for gathering information on possible violations or threat actions.


The position requires specialized experience equivalent to at least one year below this grade level including detaining or arresting suspects using proper methods;
enforcing importing-exporting international shipping regulations related to U.S.;
having knowledge about intelligence-based behavior identification risk assessments;
carrying out interviews during the investigation phase.
The candidate should have acquired necessary qualifications such as - possessing required federal agencies certificates/professional licenses; having prior work experience relevant (e.g., detention officer); successfully completing academic degree like an associate's bachelor's Master’s – minimum 1-4 years completed depending upon circumstances etc.”),
