Role and Responsibilities The Director of Product Management will work within the core xScale Strategy & Product Team and will be responsible for the creation, management, application and implementation of a variety of wholesale data center products in line with xScale’s global strategy & hyperscale customer requirements. This role covers from early-stage Product Definition and Design through Delivery & Customer Engagement, aligned with an established Product Design and Delivery Strategy, on behalf of the wider xScale Business Unit, xScale joint venture investor-partners and customers. The successful candidate will also work cross-functionally with internal and external multi-disciplinary design and operating teams, Sales Engineering / Technical Proposal Manager / Customer Project Manager functions, customers’ Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), supply chains and manufacturers. The role also supports non-technical xScale functions such as Asset Management, Corporate Development, Sales and Operations throughout inception, delivery and customer engagement phases of xScale developments. Roles & Responsibilities

Product Definition Leads direct engagement with customers’ design and operations SMEs to establish Technical and Operational (T&O) requirements for evaluation and incorporation into xScale Product offerings. Effectively communicates with senior business collaborators to ensure designs meet customers’ T&O requirements and are deliverable within project delivery stages to meet xScale BU needs for capacity, density and function. Aligns with core internal xScale functions and wider xScale partnerships to ensure complete alignment across workstreams; ensures xScale Product design and delivery fundamentals are understood and adhered to throughout delivery and customer engagement phases. Product Management Owns and maintains the core xScale Product reference designs and related documentation as a Center of Excellence for successful implementation and localisation on new and in-flight projects. Assesses product and equipment selection relative to market drivers and technologies to enable cost- and time-efficient delivery across the xScale portfolio. Maintains ongoing communication of xScale Product and Customer fitout developments with all internal and external teams to ensure alignment and lessons learned. Customer Engagement Collaborates with xScale Sales Engineering to represent the physical and technical capabilities and constraints of xScale Product during pre- and live RFP stages. Facilitates technical and operational engagements with Customer SMEs to establish and maintain relevance, alignment and compliance with Customer T&O requirements. Supports all sales opportunities through xScale’s End-to-End Stage Gate Customer Delivery Process, managing scoping, timing and costs of customer leasing. Additional Responsibilities Maintain a complete understanding of product offerings and options; act as a trusted advisor to customer engineering, deployment and operations teams. Keep current and detailed understanding of customer requirements, especially layout and planning conventions, operations conventions, and lifecycle management. Review and approve xScale Project Masterplan & Basis of Design documents with Design & Construction partners. Develop and maintain a centrally owned reference project schedule and CapEx/Bill of Quantities template to enable delivery at scale. Represent the interests of Equinix, the xScale joint venture investor-partners, and the customer on all xScale projects. Support commercial teams in customer negotiations and contracts aligned with xScale objectives. Qualifications, Skills And Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in a data center design, delivery, product management role with a preference for hyperscale experience. MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or MSc in Architecture is preferred; BSc acceptable or demonstrable equivalent experience. PE/CEng certification is highly desirable. Extensive and demonstrable experience of hyperscale data center developments across inception, masterplanning, design, construction and commercial stages, with prior engagement with hyperscale technical SMEs. Proven ability to manage internal and/or external teams in design, engineering and delivery. Passion for learning and mastering new technologies to build end-to-end solutions that meet customer needs. Willingness to travel 25-30% for external or internal meetings and industry conferences.
